Player of the Year
The player of the year award is given to an IL Sanctioned horseshoe pitcher based upon the award year’s performance in IL Sanctioned Horseshoe events and tournaments only. Players may receive points from pitching performance, pitching in a league. The breakdown is 5 points for pitching in any tournament. 5 points for first place regardless of class. 3 points for 2nd place regardless of class. 1 point for third place regardless of class. Additional points are given for games won in that tournament. 10 points for pitching in a sanctioned league. If you play out of state tournament send the results to Tara Kinsella at Tara.horseshoes@gmail.com with in 2 weeks of tournament.
Henry Franke Award
Established in memory of Henry Franke, the Franke award is presented each year to someone who has, over a period of time, demonstrated the same dedication to Illinois Horseshoe pitching as Mr. Franke Henry was a n intricate part of Illinois Horseshoe pitching for many years. He ran many tournaments, was committed to the spirit of competition, and was willing to help in any way possible.
Most improve player of the year
You must be a current ILSHPA member.
You must pitch in at least 3 sanctioned tournaments or league or have a combination of both in the awarded year.
You must have “improved” your average over the awarded year.
